May 17, 2011
Monday morning we were pleased to have Matt Roush of WWJ CBS Radio in Detroit, editor of the Great Lakes IT Report, stop by the Big Daylight office during Spring Tech Tour 2011. Each spring, Matt takes to the road to visit tech-related companies throughout the state to talk about technology-based economic development. This time, Traverse City was on the itinerary.
We filled Matt in on the history behind Big Daylight, our acquisition by FINE Design Group, and the services that we offer. Not surprisingly, social media and its tremendous influence on business was a popular topic, and one that is especially relevant in communities like those in northern Michigan, where smaller companies can now reach further into the national and global marketplace than ever before.
The meeting was much more a discussion than an interview, and afterward we were lucky enough to be treated to a ride in Matt’s very cool Chevy Volt.
A big “thank you” from all of us, Matt, for shining the spotlight on both established and emerging companies here in Traverse City and northwest Michigan. Safe travels!
The Tech Tour continues all week with the following schedule:
Tuesday: Bay City, Midland
Wednesday: Grand Rapids
